2016 STEP-A-THON is Coming Soon!

StepAThon

What is STEP-A-THON?

The annual STEP-A-THON will bring together students, families, and the community to support education! All money raised will be used directly to support PTO funded educational activities. Students are encouraged to get up and move by participating in an obstacle course created by our amazing PE teacher, Mr. Kelley. This course is composed of educational as well as physical fitness challenges. All students will receive a STEP-A-THON t-shirt, and will be encouraged to raise financial support for completion of the course. STEP-A-THON is an opportunity to enjoy fun filled activities and good exercise!

STEP-A-THON is the primary PTO fundraiser that sets the budget for the entire school year. If the event is successful, the PTO is able to supply every student with a class t-shirt, pay for all students’ field trip expenses, provide updated technology for each class room, give support to our teachers, and offer student recognition programs, reinforcement and entertainment throughout the year. In the 15-16 school year the PTO had budgeted expenses of $45,500 and budgeted revenue of $53,275.

Easy & Simple Ways to Help Us Raise Funds!

KROGER-CARD

Kroger Plus Card – If you shop at Kroger, please take two minutes to log in and link your Plus Card to White Lick Elementary PTO for us to receive Community Rewards. Last year, with 32 supporters, we received over $700. Let’s double that for this school year!!

Visit https://www.kroger.com/account/enrollCommunityRewardsNow. Please note, that your Charity of Choice expires after a year. You should receive an email from Kroger asking to reactive with WLE.

Box Tops for Education – They are small, but they sure do add up!!!! Each of those tiny Box Tops for Education you see on so many products are worth 10¢ each and during the 15/16 school year, this added up to over $2,700 for WLE PTO. Our goal for the 16/17 school year is $3,330!

Help us reach our goal by saving non-expired Box Tops, even ask friends and family who may not have young ones in school to save them too! We will be hosting a Box Tops for Education Contest in late September. Watch for information to come home with your student. If you are interested in volunteering to help clip and prepare Box Tops for submission, or have questions, please contact Lexie Estes (lexie.wlpsg@gmail.com).

Labels for Education – NEW INFO! As of August 1, 2016 only UPCs with the Labels for Education logo will be accepted and redeemed for points. The folks at Campbell’s have begun the process of removing the logo but there will be a limited number of products that contain these labels in stores through August 1, 2017. Please watch your shopping cart closely for these labels so we can take advantage of shopping from their educational resource catalog before the program completely ends. Check out the complete list  of participating products here. For more information contact Ria Steffey (Ria.wlpsg@att.net).

Coke Reward Codes – DOUBLE POINTS are just around the corner! Save your codes so we can earn 2x points on participating Minute Maid, Powerade and Dasani products. Either send in your codes to WLE, or you can enter them yourself at www.mycokerewards.com and donate them to White Lick. For more information contact Ria Steffey (Ria.wlpsg@att.net).

Amazon Smile – AmazonSmile is operated by Amazon and customers enjoy the same wide selection of products, low prices, and convenient shopping features as on Amazon.com. The difference is that when customers shop on AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to the charitable organizations selected by customers. Login at AmazonSmile using your same username and password, under Your Account, go to Change Your Charity and choose White Lick Elementary Parent Teacher Organization Inc.
